Canterbury men's 1sts just missed out on the Men's Conference East title despite winning their last game 4-3 against Indian Gymkhana.

Lloyd Norris-Jones gave the visitors the lead after 13 minutes.

But Gymkhana were soon back on level terms when Pravinder Hanspal fired home.

Tejinder Hanspal scored two goals to give the home side the lead before half-time.

In the second half, Canterbury pushed forward in an effort to get back into the game and goals from Matt Harper and Leigh Barratt pulled them level.

Norris-Jones then added his second to complete a remarkable fightback.

Oxted were crowned champions after winning their final game of the season 2-1 against Sevenoaks.

The ladies' 1sts also suffered disappointment after narrowly failing to qualify for next season’s European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Although they beat leaders Bowdon Hightown 3-1, Canterbury needed Poynton do them a favour by beating second-placed Olton & West Warwicks at the same time.

But Olton won 3-2 to clinch second place in the table.

Natasha Brennan (2) and Cindy Botha were on target for Canterbury.
