MILES Templeman will be guest speaker at the Kent branch of the Institute of Directors' (IoD) golf annual dinner being held in May.

Mr Templeman has recently been appointed director general of the IoD, following a varied career in marketing, working with leading brands such as Levi, Ribena and Daz.

The dinner will be held on May 12 at Dale Hill Golf Club, following the IoD golf championship, and this year members from the Sussex branch are invited to attend.

This will be the first opportunity for members to meet Mr Templeman, who will be making his first official visit to the county since his appointment.

Alyson Howard, chairman of the Kent branch, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for business leaders to meet Miles.

"He is a passionate believer in the values of enterprise and takes over the IoD at a time when its influence and relevance is at an all time peak."

Mr Templeman has also been involved with non-executive directorship roles and consultancy work with Royal Mail and Ben Sherman. He will be continuing his role as non-executive director of Kent family brewer, Shepherd Neame.

The programme for the golf day starts at noon with a networking lunch. During the afternoon the golf tournament will take place before the three-course dinner.

Bookings for the tournament are welcome from teams and individuals. For more information contact Debbie Cameron on 01732 849570, or email: events@iodkent.co.uk.
