Appeal after knifeman robs milkwoman

POLICE are hunting a knifeman who terrorised a milkwoman in an early-morning robbery.

The thief got away with £30 in takings after holding a knife to the victim's neck at Tanker Hill in Gillingham.

The woman had been checking her deliveries at her milk float when she was approached by a man asking for a pint. She looked up and tried to get out of the float but he pushed her back into the seat, threatened her with the knife and demanded money.

The victim handed over her cash satchel, then the culprit dropped the weapon and ran away. The incident took place at about 7.30am on Friday, December 13, but police have only just released details.

They are now looking for a man described as white, about 6ft tall and with a stocky build. He had a number of teeth missing along his top jaw and spoke with a northern accent. He was wearing a black woolly hat, with a black waterproof coat and dark blue jeans.
