Appeals after two serious street assaults

KENT Police have appealed for witnesses after two men, both in their 20s, were seriously assaulted in separate incidents over the Christmas and New Year holiday.

On New Year’s Day a 25-year-old man, from Ramsgate, was injured with a knife as he was walking in Bradley Road, Ramsgate, in the early hours of the morning.

He received neck and chest injuries after being assaulted by members of a group he walked past. Police officers took him to the QEQM Hospital where he was treated and released after treatment.

A 19-year-old Ramsgate man arrested on suspicion of wounding has been released on bail pending further police inquiries until 20 March 20.

In the other incident, on Boxing Day, a 21-year-old Margate man received a serious eye injury when he was pushed over and kicked in the head in Sanger Close, just off Tivoli Park Avenue in Margate. He was treated in hospital and is still under the care of a doctor.

Two men, both aged 19, one from Broadstairs, the other from Margate, have been arrested in connection with the assault and released on bail pending further police inquiries until February 4.
