Chemical spillage at leisure centre

TWO people were taken to hospital after a chemical spillage last Thursday night.

Firefighters were called to the incident at the Pavilion Leisure centre at Bromley at about 11.40pm.

It was found to be sodium hypochlorite, a substance similar to bleach, used to clean swimming pools.

However, the area was contained and specialist cleaners called in.

Those taken to hospital were said to be feeling sick, but that they were taken to hospital to be safe.
