Come wrestle me -- for art's sake

SOME people will do anything in the name of art, but would you willingly become a human punchbag for the day?

Anthony Schrag did just that when he challenged perplexed onlookers to join him in a makeshift wrestling ring on Margate Main Sands on Saturday (February 20).

Battle was waged inside a stripey tent, which the artist built in homage to one of the seaside's most iconic attractions - the Punch and Judy show. A referee was on hand in case things turned too violent.

Zimbabwean-born Schrag, who now lives in Glasgow, said he wanted local people to "smile and sweat" for the bizarre project, which aimed to explore the body as a tool of communication and celebrate physical challenge.

Saturday's event was the latest in Limbo Arts' 'Dead Season' series, which runs until the end of March.
