Council launches Medway clear-up

Council chiefs have launched a new campaign to drive litter off the streets of the Medway Towns.

Cigarette butts and fast food waste such as hamburger boxes and drink cartons will be the focus of the Keep Medway Tidy drive.

He said: “We want to keep town centres nice and clean, if we get the public to work with us it makes the place much more pleasant.

“We don’t want to resort to fining people for dropping litter, this campaign is asking people to help keep the place tidy.”

A waste team were available to answer questions from their promotional trailer outside Woolworths while giving out recycling bags to the public.
