FA Cup first round draw

It was the draw that many Kent football fans were hoping for - and it happened on Sunday.

Andy Hessenthaler's Gillingham will come up against his former club, Dover, in the first round of the FA Cup if Whites can beat Farnborough in their midweek replay.

The game will take place at Priestfield on Saturday, November 6.

Hessenthaler left Dover in the summer to return to the Gillingham hotseat, with Nicky Southall and Ian Hendon also making the same switch.

It led to a hostile atmosphere in the summer and Whites fans would relish the chance to put one over Hessenthaler under their new manager, Martin Hayes.

Other first-round ties included Ebbsfleet being drawn away to Blue Square Bet Premier leaders AFC Wimbledon and Charlton travelling to Mark Stimson's Barnet.

Safety Net Kent League Hythe, who upset Staines in the fourth qualifying round, travel to League 2 Hereford United while Dartford could also face league opponents. The Darts, who have a midweek home replay against Leiston, know the winners will be at home to Port Vale in the first round.

The ties are due to be played on November 6/7.

FA Cup, first round draw: AFC Wimbledon v Ebbsfleet, Barnet v Charlton, Gillingham v Farnborough or Dover, Hereford v Hythe, Leiston or Dartford v Port Vale (to be played on November 6/7).
