The Britannia steam train rolls into Canterbury West

This was the sight which greeted train spotters in Canterbury last week.

The Britannia was one of 55 locomotives built in 1951 and saw service with British Railways for 15 years until just before the end of steam traction.

It has just been overhauled by owner Jeremy Hosking and spent Thursday afternoon at Canterbury West before going on to London and Oxford.
