Mark Ronson has declared that he only wants to play in zoos from now on after the thunderous welcome he received from Zoo Thousand and Eight (Z008) ticket holders.

The multi-award winning musician and producer brought Friday’s line-up to a close with a blistering hour-long set on the main stage, performing with his troupe the Version Players and special guests.

The 32-year-old repeatedly told the crowd the gig was one of their ‘best ever’ and said he hoped there would be a Z009 so that he could return.

Though the start of his set had been delayed by 20 minutes because hip hop star Dizzee Rascal failed to show up for his own set, the 7,000-strong crowd were still full of energy for hits like Just, Stop Me, Oh My God and Valerie.

Guest singers joining Ronson on stage included Candi Payne, Daniel Merriweather, Kenna, Talia and Plastic Little.

In the middle of his set, Ronson told the crowd: “I’m only playing zoos from now on, someone tell my tour manager ‘only zoos from no on’.”
