Woman in tragedy at rail station

A WOMAN died at a Kent railway station when she was struck by a freight train.

The tragedy happened at around 10.45am on Friday at West Malling rail station near Maidstone. British Transport Police are investiging the tragedy. The woman has not yet been named.

The line was closed for around two-and-a-half hours. A bus replacement service was provided for passengers between Maidstone East station and Otford, near Sevenoaks.
