Youth attacked on Number 8 bus

POLICE have issued an appeal for help after a youth suffered a broken nose and spilt lip after confronting a man smoking on a bus.

The assault happened at about 11pm last Saturday vember 1, on the Number 8 bus travelling to Margate along Island Road at Sturry.

When the young man, from Margate, asked a passenger to put out his cigarette, he was attacked by a group of about six men. The group of men, all aged between 20 and 30, left the bus at Hersden.

The victim was treated at the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate. Anyone with information is asked to telephone call Canterbury Police on 01227 762055.
