PROMISING: Danny Kedwell

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has completed his fourth summer signing with the capture of promising striker Danny Kedwell.

Kedwell led the Kent League scoring charts last season with 28 league and cup goals for Herne Bay and was being courted by 10 other clubs. But he turned them down to work with Pennock.

He joins Wings on a two-year contract.

Pennock said: "Danny is not the finished article yet but he is a natural goalscorer and I believe he has the potential to go even further in the game.

"He had Conference clubs chasing him but he wanted to come to us and I’m delighted because he is a player that I’ve been watching for a while."

Kedwell is the fourth new player to arrive at Park View Road since the end of the season.

Pennock first swooped for Gravesend duo Lee Gledhill and James Pinnock and then snapped up former Wings youth team keeper Jamie Turner from Tonbridge.

Gledhill is a right-back, while Pinnock is a striker who can play in a withdrawn role.

Pennock said: "The four players were my main summer targets, along with Martin Carthy who I will speak to in the next week or two, so I’m delighted that they have signed for Welling.

"There’s other players in the pipeline who I want to bring to the club but my hands are tied until there are some out-goings."
