AT LEAST 90 per cent of all passengers who used Charlton's highly successful Valley Express coach service last season came from Kent, with the remainder travelling from Sussex, the organisers have reported.

A total of 687 coaches carried 32,722 passengers to The Valley, of which 628 coaches and 30,156 were to the 19 Barclays Premier League matches. Fifty nine coaches and 2,566 passengers went to the five cup games.

Valley Express organiser Rick Everitt said: "Based on that growth, we are aiming to carry up to 50,000 passengers for the 2006-07 season. All Kent routes will continue at £5 a head."
