Police say a missing man has been found safe and well.

Officers were appealing for help to locate Ian Mathias, from Maidstone, who was last seen early on Thursday morning.

Police said his last known whereabouts was at about 4am in the Tonbridge Road area of Tunbridge Wells.

The 44-year-old is slim with brown hair and glasses.

He was wearing a black puffy jacket, a black Nike hooded top, a light top underneath and dark trousers at the time.

Officers said he could still be in Tunbridge Wells or in Tonbridge or Maidstone.

This afternoon (Sunday) police issued a statement to say he had been found.
