A main road into a town centre is closed in both directions due to a large fallen tree.

The A20 Ashford Road is affected between New Cut Road and Square Hill Road, in Maidstone.

Traffic cameras appear to show cars turning around in the road to avoid the traffic chaos.

Emergency services are in attendance and a Kent County Council representative is en-route to assist.

Drivers are advised to use alternative routes where possible and to expect long delays.
