A woman was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Maidstone town centre this morning.
The 78-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in the incident which happened in Union Street shortly after 10.30am.
She was taken by Kent Air Ambulance to Kings College Hospital in London suffering from head, shoulder and pelvic injuries.
Union Street remained closed until lunchtime from Chruch Street down to Week Street.
