Southern Counties East Premier Division Lordswood appoint Richard Dimmock to replace departed manager Neil Hunter

Lordswood have handed former player Richard Dimmock the chance to manage the side.

Dimmock has replaced Neil Hunter at the struggling Southern Counties East Premier Division side.

The new manager takes charge of a side sitting second from bottom in the SCEL Prem but has been forced to wait for his debut game in the dugout for Lordswood because of Covid.

Lordswood’s game against Medway rivals Hollands & Blair has been called off.

Announcing his appointment, a Lordswood statement said: “His sole target for the remainder of the season is to pull the team out of the relegation zone in what has been a wretched first half of the 2021/22 season.”

Next up for Lordswood is a trip to Tunbridge Wells where Dimmock will be up against a former team-mate and manager in Richard Styles.

Dimmock has already enjoyed success as a manager, guiding Welling Town to SCEFL Division 1 from the Kent County League. He also had a spell in charge at Meridian VP and most recently at KCFL side Halls Athletic.

He brings with him his coaching team from Halls, in Mike Jones and Jason Long.

Both Dimmock and Long played under former boss Jason Lillis. The new manager spent five seasons as a player at the club and had earlier appeared in the Conference for Welling United and also been at Gravesend & Northfleet.

Dimmock is a Kent League winner as a player at both Thamesmead Town and Cray Wanderers.
