A MOTORCYCLIST is in hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a collision with a car.

The crash happened in Marine Parade, Sheerness, at about 1.20pm on Monday.

The air ambulance took the motorcyclist, a local man in his 40s, to a London hospital. Sally Smith, police media and communications officer, said: "His injuries were thought to be life threatening. He remains in a serious condition in hospital."

The vehicles involved were the Honda motorcycle and a dark green Vauxhall Cavalier. The road was reopened at 5.40pm.
