Ramsgate RNLI's former coxswain Ron Cannon's funeral takes place tomorrow

The funeral of RNLI veteran Ron Cannon will take place tomorrow.

The former coxswain for Ramsgate's RNLI branch died on Sunday, January 7, following a period of illness.

A service will take place at St George’s Church, Ramsgate at 1.30pm tomorrow for all who wish to pay their respects.

A spokesman for Ramsgate RNLI said: “This will be followed by a service for family members only at Thanet Crematorium.

“The family have asked for no flowers but have requested that anyone wishing to make a donation to either Ramsgate RNLI or the Pilgrims Hospice, Margate, in Ron’s memory, can do so c/o Twyman and Holmes, 42 King Street, Ramsgate CT11 8NT stating to which charity they wish to donate.”

Mr Cannon was a crew member on Ramsgate lifeboats for 37 years, and served as coxswain for 25 of those.
